The Age for Char Dham Yatra
There is no fixed regulation for Char Dham yatris but due to the strenous demands, the favored age group is between 7 and 65 years. You will, however, require a medical certificate to validate your health condition. All Char Dham Camps are equipped with care boxes & oxygen cylinders, but carrying your own kit for the road could even be an honest idea. There are two treks in Char Dham yatra – a six km one-way trek from Jankichatti to Yamunotri, and a twenty-one km one-way trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath, so comfy feet wears with a strong grip are a must haves! Pithus, Ponies, and Palkis are available for those not willing to or unable to trek.
The weather at Char Dham is usually pleasant from April to June. Winters are very cold and freezing and have absolutely zero percent chances of rains and consequent landslides. Wear sweaters, warm jackets, gloves because air get thin and very much cold, and woolen socks are highly recommended. If you’re travelling in season, carry a raincoat also.
